10/4: Fish & Wildlife Day 10am-2:30pm
10/4: Fish & Wildlife Day 10am-2:30pm
We are Little Stony Point Citizens Association, the first of NYS parks Friends Groups, founded by Pete Seeger, Vic Schwartz and local community members. Today we are a team of volunteers dedicated to connecting people to the Park experience at Little Stony Point. Our goals are to keep the Park beautiful and support Parks' efforts.
Our next big event is Fish & Wildlife Day! THIS Saturday, 10/4, 10am-2:30pm
Little Stony Point Park, 3011 Rt 9D, Cold Spring
You can fish in the river (equipment provided), watch River seining demonstrations and observe, up close, netted water species with a river expert explaining the catch!
Also, there will be native plant and wildlife demonstrations to heighten our awareness of the natural species in our midst in the lower Hudson Valley!
Little Stony Point Citizens Association (LSPCA) is dedicated to the safe access, enjoyment and preservation of the land, as well as programming of events at Little Stony Point in the Hudson Highlands State Park Preserve. Founded in 1984, LSPCA was the first of now over 30 “Friends” groups that support New York State Parks to keep beautiful areas like Little Stony Point open for public enjoyment. Volunteers and members help to make the above stated mission a reality.
The Volunteer Center supports a variety of fun events and activities at the park. We are extremely grateful for the support of NYS Park and Trail Partnership Grant administered by Parks and Trails New York and the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
Your donation to Little Stony Point Citizens Association ensures a great future for our local park. Little Stony Point is a valuable community resource and must be maintained, through beneficial improvements and community volunteerism, to preserve its splendor and address impacts such as climate change, invasive species and increased visitation. Thank you for your generous donation today. Your gift no matter the amount is worthwhile and appreciated.
